Star Trek and Captain Picard teaching us how to get along with a co-worker we don't have anything in common with, while demonstrating that every worker has value. This is a good episode and it reminds me a bit of Mr Rogers teaching us to get along with our classmates and neighbors.

Toral now had to live with the dishonor of his family. He was likely exiled to a far part of the empire with no chance to make good on his declaration to have his house rule the Klingon people. Always in the same area so that the Klingon High Council could keep an eye on him. If there was a follow-up on him, he probably would've found a mate from the lowest parts of society, raised children with him trying to paint his house as martyrs for a cause, only for those children to learn the truth of their traitorous ancestors and to make themselves better than that, and to do so with the same level of honor as the one who made it possible for them to do so. That Klingon would be Worf, Son of Mogh, Son of Sergei, House of Martok, and eventual Captain of the Enterprise.

I love the mentoring Picard gives Ro, too bad it never really panned out. Michelle Forbes was in and out of movies and in and out of the show, then came back just to exit. I’ve always thought of Chekov as Kirk’s protégé, and Ro could’ve been Picard’s. I’m glad she got a call back for Picard S3.

The admiral was such a great villain in this episode. They way he gets somewhat redeemed at the end is gut wrenching. 😢

How could the Klingons be so culturally backward, primitive and barbaric, yet developed not only warp drive and transporter technologies, but also their own cloaking devices? It just doesn't add up.

I love how the doctor has so much integrity that he puts his career on the line for a weird alien guy and ultimately is forced to forfeit his position to a young, untrained beginner. It's sad we didn't see more of the Malcorians.

The thing I like most about this scene is they avoided the cliche of having the intelligence officer being antagonistic or needlessly skeptical of Teal'c's veracity. Kennedy isn't rude, doesn't treat Teal'c with suspicion and doesn't accuse him of holding back when he can't answer a question. With no evidence to the contrary, he accepts that Teal'c is being as honest as he can be. And when Teal'c mentions the legend of the Tau'ri, Kennedy immediately tells him that Earth is that world, which is a useful nugget of information. In short, the military guys aren't aggro and stupid, they way they're normally portrayed.

The other choice? Why it would never work! There's not enough beans in the whole galaxy....; Zaaap!

I have never noticed how black her eyes are. You can see her in any episode of the series and they are jet black
